To all the brides...We see you!
TO ALL THE BRIDES 🤍
We know how long you have waited to put on that dress. We know all the long nights spent budgeting, venue searching, finding your perfect vendor tribe, and so much more that went into building your dream wedding. We are heartbroken for all of you who have had to make the tough decision to put that long awaited day on hold. To hang your dress back up for the foreseeable future. It’s okay to grieve. We are in the trenches with you. We see you, and we know your disappointment. But you WILL come out of this. You are not an ordinary bride. You are withstanding a storm that no other brides in this century have had to face. You are a boss, and a conqueror, and this too shall pass.
We are all living through such crazy times, that our kids will one day read about in their history books. This pandemic has effected everyone, in one way or another. The loss of life being the most tragic loss of all.
This season doesn’t look like what you pictured…not even a little. But know this: there is beauty to be found amidst the darkness. There is always hope, in every circumstance. After all the fleeting things of your wedding day fall away, what remains is the most important thing of all, the reason for the celebration - your love story. That is one thing that cannot be taken from you. Holdfast to that beautiful truth, and to each other.
Through this strange season, God has cleared all the clutter from my life, and made a way for the important things to return to the forefront. Personally, getting back to the basics has been reviving. So many things have been ripped out from underneath me - control, financial stability, freedom...Yet I have never felt more grounded in truth and in grace. Lately, I have thought so much about what I put my faith and security in. Relying on my circumstances to provide that is just setting myself up for disaster and disappointment. We can’t change what we can’t control. I have learned to embrace that, and lean into what I know to be true.
Brides, you will have a story unlike any other that have come before you. Embrace the uniqueness of your story, don’t let it swallow you whole. Celebrate your story, and savor every chapter along the way.
